Ball playing midfielder - any suggestions?

I think we need the player David Fox almost was, a latter day Ian Crook. A rare species. Any suggestions?
A player who would fit the bill, in my opinion, is van Ginkel, who might well be loaned out from Chelsea next season. But I doubt he'd want to come to Norwich and his wages would be high.
Interested to know who wrathers think were the best midfield playmakers/ passers we faced the the Championship last season?
