not "fantastically philanthropic"

How much have Delia/Michael invested? I understood it they still have a loan of ?1 or 2M that they can call back from the club. All their investments were some years ago, when the club was in trouble. But bot a huge proportion of their estimated wealth.
Ok, they love the club, won't sell up to a dodgy foreigner and don't need to put themselves in the firing line, but they now own a large part of a premiership club in the richest league in the world which is worth far more than the sum they originally invested.
With regards to our Ipswich neighbours, Marcus Evans gave Roy Keane masses of cash for transfer fees which was largely wasted so he has cut back his spending, but he still heavily subsidises the wage bill.
