I don't like the English way of putting managers in charge of player recruitment, it makes no sense to be so reliant on one person in any company. Alex Neil has never had any money to spend so there's no reason to think he's the best person to decide what players come in (although obviously should have a voice on certain targets and identify positions we need). I know the PL has an unhappy history with DOFs but if done well it can work perfectly. I'd love to see us follow the Brentford model, personally.
