I only did a couple of clone recipes before just making it up.

That one, which I got badly wrong, but was lovely, and a clone of Tim Taylor's Landlord, which I had more luck following without obviously ballsing up, but the beer was hmmm OK, but not great.

I much prefer making recipes up now. (Although I haven't actually brewed in well over 2 years.
