Depending what you mean by "safe"
I've never had a problem with violence in Leeds, though you can expect sweary comments if you're in colours, especially if we win, really especially if Howson scores the winner. So for a more pleasant experience you might not want to be showing colours.
If instead you mean can you reliably park near the ground, I don't know. I'm very boring about drink driving (I don't, ever), and I'm very boring about going to games sober (I don't, ever) so I always use public transport when I watch live games.
