my views on yesterday
Personally I felt we played quite well. We were very competitive for most of the match. That said, we looked worryingly unlike scoring. I was in the Barclay and I thought the atmosphere was quite good, especially first half. Mind you i've been stuck in the Jarrold for the best part of two seasons and it may be my standards have slipped. Certainly, the boo boys and whingers need to shut up. I am worried about some people's realism levels- including the bloke next to us who thought David Nugent would be desperate to join us as Deano's replacement. Oh well at least we got to stand up! Also nice to see the kids getting on.
player ratings
Green-6 2nd goal was a shocker but the cross shouldn't have go that far, there were 3 city players around the crosser. That aside, good game, made some good saves. So glad he's ok, I was terrified for him.
Rossi-7 not worth 7 undernormal circumstances but considering the situation I thought he had a decent game. Got caught a few times, but having hendo in front of him probably didn't help much. Size is a bit worrying.
Drury-7 My MOTM, great defensively and a threat going fowards
Fleming-6 I hope Shackell comes back into the team when fit.
Doherty-7 I wouldn't have made him MOTM but I can see why people did. None the less, i'm still not entirely convinced by him
Hendo-6.5 anonomous first half but brighter second and dangerous when recieved ball in space. Would probably have been better playing in front of a more experienced full back.
Jarrett-5.5 occasional moments of class stood out in sea of dross. Would be agood player if he could make the good spells last far longer
Etuhu-5 being walloped over the head probably didn't help but sill s**t first half. Improved in second but still didn't look worth transfer fee
Charlton-5.5 Shit free kick, generally unimpressive but didn't do anything too bad
McVeigh-6 worked hard but didn't look threatening. Not helped by lack of support.
Thorne-5.5 some good moments but failed to link up with McVeeigh or Hendo. Probably short of match fitness. Cardiff fans on train from Paddington didn't seem to miss him.
Subs- None of them got long but didn't look out of place especially Spillane
