It's a great film

Seriously, much better than you'd think from reading the promos, etc. Much, much more than a "date movie" though that's how it pitched itself. De Niro is sublime as ever and Bradley Cooper gives a stellar performance. Plus Jennifer Lawrence. What's not to love?

Another film that's "much, much more than you'd think" is Little Miss Sunshine.

Neither has the intellectual depth of, say, Brazil, or the power of something like the Green Mile or Shawshank Redemption. But both are more than just diverting and I'd recommend them.
