Well, it was like this

I've never had much of a problem with musical instruments, tho entirely in a Jack of all trades, master of none way. I play piano like a guitarist - I spot the root and guess the rest, if that makes sense, so I can jam to an amateurish degree. Basically, anything you don't have to blow into, I can get a tune out of.

So, with the violin being strings, I thought it'd be a piece of piss, and with all the groovy guitar equip I have, I thought I'd just ned to tweak my settings etc and in no time at all I'd be making wonderful new sounds.

Nope.

Look - you can drive, right? Pretty well, tho you say so yourself? OK - now try it from the passenger seat. that's the violin for you.

OK its also true that I'm now old and lazy......

Anyway - James Whale on radio, time to go and do something useful instead.
