todays "game"

Nigel was pleased with his patched up troops as injury and suspension took their toll. What utter rubbish.

First I will make one very big assumption ? that when signing players Nigel only signs players he wants in the first team , not simply to boost the reserves. This is a critical assumption as it totally negates Nigels comments about suspensaions and injuries. After all why sign a player if he isn?t good enough for the first team

Lets look at todays team

Green ? another mistake but Nigesl first choice goalie
Defence ? 3 ?first teamers, two of whom Nigel signed and those 3 playing in their normal position
Centre Midfield two of Nigels signing so if my assumption is correct then there should be no excuse about supsensions causing a weakness (but we all know different!)
Left midfield ? Charlton , not a recognised winger but Brennan was on the bench so Nigels choice to play Charlton.
Right Midfield ? Henderson, not his natural position but has played out right virtually all first team career so should be not problem
Strikers ? Mcveigh, played well recently and Thorne another of Nigels signings so again no excuse
This leave us right back , debut to Jarvis but I thought his main posiiton was centre back, but he did OK as it was his debut, however Nigel had an option to play Brennan or Charlton at right back if needed.

The point I am trying to make is that the injuries and suspensions is no excuse, we didn?t for example have to play Drury up front or Flemming in midfield due to not having enough players to fill those positions.

Therefore I was extremely dispointed and gutted at probably the worst performance of the season. West Ham were better, not that much better but our lack of anything constructive and simply giving the ball away too easily helped them out . How many shots on target did we have 1 or 2? How many attempts did Thorne have? How many surging runs did Etuhu or Jarrett try. How many times did Charllton or Henderson get the ball and make a runs and cross?

I am extremely worried about the next 4/5 games. With no one to play football, score or prevent opposion goals what is going to happe?. We all believe that Ashton will leave , and how many Etuhu?s and Jarrets will ?5m buy? I am very worried!!
