The "net spend" doesnt look at the fact he was told to vastly cut the wage bill by dumping players the club had payed huge money for (bent, Ireland ect ect ect) while replacing them with younger cheaper talent....

While he had a net spend on transfers, he had a huge negative spend on wages.......

Yes, it all went tits up at the end (as does virtually every football management appointment) but overall he did exactly the job he was asked to do by the owners over the 2.5 year period.
Thats the reason the owner kept him there for so long.
