Well realistically we cannot scrap them now because

They are such a part of our system and the government is reliant on the taxation from them so they are here to stay. I just have a fundamental objection to the idea that the state is entitled to tax is on virtually everything we do including members of our family passing over money on death.

I get that it was originally introduced back in a very different day to spread some wealth from the very large, wealthy estates but it has become something more than that.

Stamp duty another one that f**ks me off. Why the hell should we have to pay thousands of pounds to the government in order to buy a house. Again I get the original purpose and I know its an historic charge/tax not a recent phenomenon but I just disagree with it.

I have no answers as to what should replace these taxes I just think they are unfair to the extent that they apply in today's society.
