No, not at all.

The scientist telling them to carry on is just very very cold and says things like "It is essention you complete the experiment". THe scientist presents a front that says that it's perfectly acceptable to continue - it's the feedback you get (screams of agony "Pease stop for god's sake") that tells you to stop, but the scientist just tells you it's acceptable. Over 50% of people carry on right to the end.
