Every holiday i had as a kid (till I was 15 and went away on my own) was
at my Grans in Torquay, partly cos it was cheap, partly because it was the only time my dad saw his parents as my Gran was disabled and unable to travel.
Always remember the steam train journey from Colchester to Torquay
