The Preston Model. Forget Charlton.
Look at Preston, thats the way to run a football club.
Young, ambitious manager who has them playing football.
They get in or bring through quality players who do a good job for them, ultimately, when they move on, they reap the financial reward-Cresswell, Healy, Etuhu (!), all big profits made there . Still got some great players that will eventually do the same for them-Nugent, McKenna, but who, in the meantime, are part of a good side, playing good football, and getting some attention and success (p/off final last season).
They have a decent scouting network and source out players who will improve whilst at the club and improve the team, as well as bringing in a good transfer fee which they can then re-invest and do more of the same.
Lessons to be learnt there.
