In theory, I can see what attracted him; big club at it's lowest ebb for years. Easy to improve from there!

But as you say, the ownership situation will mean it's almost impossible to achieve that, particularly when fans expectations are factored in. They keep harking back to the Martin o'neil years, completely ignoring how much money they spent on that squad.
