Stinks of McNally

Before I get slaughtered for my thoughts I want to put it on record that I really hope That Mr Neil does a fantastic job and proves to be an inspired choice if he ultimately gets the job. I am however hugely underwhelmed by his potential appointment and must admit I had never even heard of Alex Neil and I'm sure 95% of the NCFC players had not either before the news broke that we had made an approach for him.

Many people on here are saying it's a Lambert type appointment appointment but my fear is that Lambert would have immediately had the respect of the players from what he achieved as a player where as as mentioned above I'm not sure any of the players will have even heard of Mr Neil let alone respect him. This means he has a battle on his hands to earn the players respect to start with.
Another big difference to me is that Lambert had actually managed in England and specifically in the league that we were in at the time he came to club.

Another concern is that yes he has done a great job at Hamilton Accies but the standard of football in Scotland is horrendous. I would estimate that the SPL with the exception of maybe celtic is similar to the standard of league one and the league below that is probably the standard of league 2/conference.

To me the proposed move again stinks of mcnally wanting someone that is not high profile who he can control. I'm sure Mr Neil will be only too happy to work under McNally's football committee as in his eyes Norwich is a huge club and I can't imagine he had even dreamt of getting the job.
Given that it's a big club and a huge step up for him I'm sure he will come cheap which suits Ncfc and McNally. I can only guess but I would also assume he will be happy to work with the backroom staff that are already in place such as Gary Holt etc. It will however be interesting to see whether Phelen sticks around as if he does not its a clear indication that he wanted the too job.
