Prior to the Lambert years

the Board had taken the club to the very brink of administration. McNally's appointment and a clever restructuring of the debt started a recovery.

It was the inspired (or lucky) appointment of Lambert and the subsequent promotions which brought about financial stability.

Choosing managers has been a problem for lots of clubs, if we're honest, but there are few Boards who could match ours for bad choices - Grant, Roeder, Gunn, Adams
were all terrible decisions. Hughton not so - I think most of us thought that was a good one.
