Re: guilty pleasures
The Beautiful South. Only 1989 to 2000 though, their last three albums were very, very bad. 'Welcome To' is in my top 5 albums ever. '0898' and 'Miaow' both have some inspired moments and 'Blue is the Colour', while it has some genuinely dreadful songs, also has some of Paul Heaton's most brilliant lyrics. Even 'Painting it Red' is 50/50 - there are at least ten examples of amazing songwriting on that album. I know people hate them but they're very much misunderstood. I loved them.
Heaton's solo albums are alright too, especially The Cross Eyed Rambler.
