Afrika Bambaataa at Hammersmith Palais, 1984

Me and two mates travelled from Yarmouth to it. We were 16 years old and I have no idea how my parents ever agreed to let us go.

I honestly swear we didn't see another white face in there! We sat in a banquette right at the back with our ?1.50 pints of Fosters (an outrage at that time) and let the dope fumes wash over us!

No mobiles, no way of checking our whereabouts, my folks must have been s**tting themselves even more than we were...
