must
* have some experience at this level or (preferably) higher
* have a plan B and a plan C and a plausible plan A
* play the best eleven players in their normal positions every week
* drop any player clearly out of form, regardless of name, status or reputation
* eat four Weetabix for breakfast
* have never pulled on the yellow and green
* have the capability to be nasty when needed
