Modem Help please!

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me my modem on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro) has given up the ghost.

I've played around with it and the problem seems to be that it thinks it should be using COM 3 but when I look in device manager under Ports (COM & LPT) Com 3 isn't listed, in fact only ECP Printer Port (LPT1) is listed.

Does anyone know how to get this port back or to tell my modem which port it should be using (and how to find that out!).
