Absolutely,get a burr grinder.

The blade type are cheaper but smash up the beans,heating them and destroying flavour.All professional coffee establishments use burr grinders.Careful though some burr grinders do not grind fine enough for espresso.I had a Cuisinart model that did not and I believe the Kitchenaid one doesn't either.Best check out the reviews.
