Sounds a difficult situation. Did you visit your mum/give her a lot more attention before you were married and your son was born? Do your wife and mum have differing ideas over parenting styles that have led to clashes?
I think perhaps the first point I would make to her is that its not fair for her grandson to suffer/not see his grandma as much as his cousins just because she's not getting on with your wife. Maybe suggest the three of you go out (i.e. you, your mum and son) for a day somewhere and use that opportunity to chat it through when your wife is not around?
