Similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago (although it wasn't her fault tbf)
Had an x-ray at a routine early morning check-up and she said I needed a wisdom tooth out. Looked like the root was fine to take it out on the x-ray (I saw it). She did get it out but it turned out a bit had grown into the jaw bone and this splinter ripped my gum when it came out. Still, all seemed ok, so I drove the 60 miles to work with those pad things in to stop the bleeding, along with some spares.
At 1.30, after 3 1/2 hrs of continuous bleeding I phoned them and they told me to come back in. The top dog dentist there tried to stitch it up but failed so referred me to Preston hospital.
9.30 in the evening, I finally left the hospital with it stitched up and no bleeding.
Think I can safely say it wasn't the best Friday I've ever had
