IMO those stats have little meaning
because there are so many other factors to consider (home or away?; winning, drawing, losing?).
Good sides chasing pts will take gambles like going three at the back - Adams did it and Lambert probably did so too.
Sides that are struggling would be unlikely to haul off a defender to chase the game, as the likelihood of no points is outweighed by the possibility of one (or even three)
