protesting about proposed changes to HK's electoral process

which would mean that altho HKesers get to vote (next election in 2017), they would only get to choose form a list of candidates approved by the Chinese authorities.

HK's Basic Law says that candidates can be pre-selected, but that they must be chosen by a 'broadly representative' body.

so question is whether the proposed new processes are in line with that. Protestors say no.
