We will never know because there were no exit polls so

we have no way of knowing which sections of society voted for which camp other than the geographical breakdown. Dundee and Glasgow appear to have had the highest percentage of yes voters whereas Edinburgh was quite strongly no (presumably as there are more people employed in financial jobs there). I suspect there are probably quite a few more english people living in Edinburgh than Glasgow as well but have no stats to base that on.
