The Signs Are There: Leicester City moved to the top of the Championship
last year for just 24 hours, after their seventh game on Tuesday 17th September, beating Blackburn 2-1 at home.
By that stage, they'd got 16 points having won 5, drawn 1 and lost 1.
A day later QPR regained the top spot.
I fully expect to be overtaken by Forest again tonight, after they thrash Foolums.
The rest of the season played out thus...
Leicester spent time moving around the top 3 with QPR and Burnley, until the Christmas programme. From thereon, the Foxes went on a 20 game unbeaten run, including 9 victories in a row which pulled them comfortably clear of the chasing pack.
At the half way point on 29th December, Leicester had played 23, got 48 points and scored 39.
They finished as Champions on 102 points having scored 83 goals.
Something to keep an eye on as a yardstick through this season.
