Well...

One gave me the big heave-ho on my 21st Birthday-then gave me a card with a ?20 note in it (lot of money in those days) to try and make up for it-then went out with my best mate...that stung a bit.

Another did so on just after Christmas 1985...200 miles from home and virtually impossible to get back again to heal the wounds-mind you, she did end up being my wife so I guess bygones can be bygones...

So yes, do it. Honesty and all that, plus gives you free reign at all the parties.
