I was talking to someone about this last week

This bloke I was sat next to at a wedding was saying that back in the 70's and 80's got to know many of the staff at Stoke Mandeville.

He said that Saville was not popular, like he made out, and although he wouldn't go into details he did say that concerns where raised about Saville but no one was prepared to go higher because of who he was. They feared losing their jobs and never being able to work in medicine again.

Saville was a bit of a gangster and very influential. This bloke said that many had their suspicions but he was shocked as to how bad it actually was.
