Cardiff have more to lose out of that scenario (it'd open them up to the compensation claims from Mackay plus it would potentially be a breach of FA rules if they had actively tried to hide this sort of thing).

Reading that Mail article again, I think it's simply a case that once Cardiff disclosed that they had these text messages, Mackay knew it would all come out in court so he just dropped the case, settled the legal fees, and hoped it would all go away quietly.

What a complete and utter div.
