Christmas Shopping.

1. Why is the Mind, Body, and Spirit section twice the size of the Popular Science section in Waterstones'? What does that say about modern Britain? Crystals, astrology, new age nonsense, aaarghh.

2. Argos. Going to buy an item for Mrs Yarmy (Sega Outrun TV game thing). The little terminal says it's an Argos EXTRA item. Take my order form to the till and the quy says 'It's an Argos EXTRA item. That means we don't keep it here, but we can order it for you." So Argos have re-branded items that aren't in stock as EXTRA items. What does that say about modern Britain?

3. Mrs Yarmy is a svelte size 8. Can you get size 8 anything? No, you can't. What does that say about modern Britain?
