if you focus on the 'worst case' scenario you'd never do anything
why EVER spend money on a player when he could get injured in his first game and you've pissed all your money down the drain?
You have to assess the probabilities and make a reasoned choice.
In thsi case there is an equally reasonable possibility that he'll do very little at Cardiff and the new player we get in as a result of selling him does a great job for us.
