why didn't he play them all, if he was so effective? It's a mystery

My theory is that he lost interest, which happened during the games that he did play as well. And his level of fitness was never very high, which may have been why he was so patchy. But who knows? All I'm sure of is that he was disappointing in that he didn't achieve what he looked capable of.
