Didn't realise this was a debate on The Guardian before getting involved!
In general the UK press was extremely slow to pick up on what was going on. It took the "international community" about 5 days to start to take any action, while tens of thousands of people starved on a mountain in 45 degree heat, hundreds of women kidnapped for slavery and thousands killed/beheaded.
Unimaginable barbarity. The more we can do to help the Kurds defeat them in the North of the country the better imho. The ease with which ISIS overpowered them across a lot of the front line is startling and very worrying.
