Chromecast is limited to certain apps
so you need to check that the apps you will use are compatible.
However, you might want to try Miracast which will stream whatever is showing on a screen (phone, tablet or PC) to your TV.
Another way of doing it is to use Samsung allshare cast. If your TV dunt have that then perhaps get a blu-ray player that has it, or buy the dongle.
Another thought is to buy a RaspberryPi. Plug it into your TV and network and it should work with your remote control.
