On the ticket exchange boards there have been more tickets sold to the USA than anyone else outside south america (we are second BTW). I was in Manaus and sao Paulo and confirm there are an awful lot of them about. The vast majority are football fans as opposed to tourists. I was surprised, but don't underestimate their numbers over there
