Anyone off of on here got a roofbox on thier car?
I'm looking at buying or hiring one for a holiday later in the year - but have become preposterously confused by the options and configurations of roof-bars and mounts available (on the Thule website), for mounting a box onto.
Thinking about buying the bars but hiring the box (I'll use the bars fairly often, but not so much the box, so difficult to justify the cost of the box as well). What bars do I get so that I stand a chance of being able to mount them also on my next car - whatever that ends up being?
And apparently you can get lockable and not-lockable roof bars? WTAF? One roof-box hire place said they only hire boxes to people who have a lockable roof-bar system in place.
Anyone help with some advice approaching sanity?
