Been a bit harsh on M?nchen down there.

No mentions of Hamburg either, which is a great city. Go to the Fischmarkt at 5am after a night out.

You could also chuck Madrid in there. Used to be more bars per head than any other European city, I think, with a surprisingly friendly feel.

Smaller cities are nice too: Annecy, Augsburg, Montpellier, Aosta, Girona.
