Cricket watchers - am I being overly harsh

In sitting here watching this and just thinking Cook is too negative?

I know its a bit of a gravy train to accuse him of this and in fairness we are defending a small total but we had them on the wrack at 3 down and instead of going for the jugular we brought Root and Gurney on and banked a few cheap overs and now we need wickets but have no close catchers at all. I just don't get it. If you let them just get 4/5 and over without taking risks they will just win.

Ps. Just seen Gurneu miss that. His fielding is sh*t!
