thats my main concern

if Liverpool win (especially if they then get a CL place for next season) it will be seen as vindicating their policy of resting players for league games, which affects the fortunes of teams other than those they actually rest them against. Which shouldn't be encouraged and isn't good for fair competition. Issues like relegation etc shouldn't be decided partly on who gets to play the big teams just before a big CL game. One of the reasons Mourinho is great is that he put out pretty much his best team regardless of CL fixtures (eg against us before the Barcelona 2nd leg). Which shows respect for the competition as well as the opposition.
