I'm in no doubt we will 'go for it' against Arsenal.
Adams isn't stupid, he would have fully considered really going all out attack, but perhaps that the chances of success in doing that were slim in the extreme. With 35 points we have no hope, with 36 points we have some hope.
Also if we had gone all gung ho in the last 20 minutes, we could have ended up conceding 2 or 3 and it would have been very difficult to pick the lads up for the Arsenal game after that and we may well have finished the season on 32 points and possibly bottom or second bottom of the league.
You also need to consider, however slim, that if any appeal against Sunderland is successful, we would need to be no lower than 18th for it to potentially benefit us.
All in all, the reward for that 1 point was more valuable, than the extreme risk of trying to get all 3.
