The under-fire manager is clearly expect his phone to ring come January 1, with Ashton, goalkeeper Robert Green and midfielders Darren Huckerby and Youssef Safri all possible targets.
?I think for the first time in five years it is nice that we can sit and talk about players that you are getting offers and phone calls about, it shows how much we have moved on, that we have got quality players within the group.?
Sums up NW's (and the club's?) ambition, or lack of it. The 5 years have been a success because, although we're back around the championship relegation zone, we now have some players we might be able to sell. Marvellous.
