There's so much we can't do on our work laptops,

Like we now can't install software on them. We have to send a ticket request to the team in the US who will research and check that it complies with their policies and them they have to remotely install it for us, which takes about 2 days.

No good on a flaky 3G internet dongle when you're trying to provide your client with urgent realtime geological data. works a treat...
