The difficulties that RvW (and Hoops/Elmander)

have had scoring this season have landed us in a relegation fight.

BUT

He's shown in other leagues that he has an eye for the goal & I reckon he could well turn out to be prolific at this level, whether that's with us or elsewhere is another question.

Confidence in strikers is key and it's absolutely clear that none of ours have much at the minute (although Elmander seems to be playing with a bit more spark).

So, while it's disappointing he's not clicked I'd say writing him off as a bad job, while entirely understandable, might not be the best for us.

Our restructured front line has just not worked - when we recruit again in the summer RvW, or Hooper, or Elmander might prove to be an important part of that jigsaw.

The crucial thing must be that we change things over the summer - and I have no reason to think we won't.

(and no, I don't blame Hootun for it not working, I think we've failed over a number of years to plan sensibly for Holt going/declining)
