The barrel has ben scraped
because, this morning, we have in the EDP a call from one Bryan Hamilton to get behind Worthy. This has to be the last throw of the dice, or perhaps a really clever move on the part of the Board to get the biggest t**t they could find to open his mouth without engaging his brain, and then say to Worthy "Look Nigel, it has even come to this, first Roy Blower wants you out and now Gobby Hammy wants you in. I mean, you see how we're placed on this one." And then a call to George Burley (no lover of Hamilton) and a chance of mid-table respectability before making a serious challenge next season.
Is the Board that clever? Munby mght be, he's a PR man don't let's forget. Am I being too fanciful? Probably, but whistling in the dark to keep the spirits up is a well known approach to adversity.
Worthy, as they say in Scotland "YAR BUM'S OOT THE WINDAE"
