They are wonderful bits of kit
I bought an iMac in 2010 when it turned out it was no more expensive than buying the same specs for a windows desktop. I am posting from it right now. Then bought an 2009 MacBook Air second hand on E-Bay and it has been amazing. I still use it as my work machine even though I have recently bought the new MacBook Air which, with OSX Mavericks, has a genuine battery life of 15 hrs. Wonderful stuff.
And no I have had no bad experiences with them at all. Even the 2009 MacBook Air has 85% of the battery capacity it had when it left the factory. Cheaper in the long run. Both my older Macs are running wonderfully smoothly on the very latest OSX (Mavericks). Not like Windows where every upgrade slows it down terribly.
