The perils of modern football watching
You find a good, smooth internet stream for a huge game which your team have to win, or else. You take the lead, you're playing better than in ages... and on about 70 minutes, a message pops up saying "insufficient memory on your computer".
You hesitate, because you know rebooting will take up to 10 minutes; and choose to ignore said message. Then it pops up again on 80 minutes; you ignore it again. The stream starts chopping and buffering and you spend the last few minutes trying desperately to follow what's going on... and on 90 minutes, as you head into injury time with your team still ahead, your computer crashes altogether.
Now you have no choice other than to shut down - in injury time FFS! - your router stops working as well, meaning you have to turn it off and leave it for a bit; and you spend the next half an hour biting your fingernails and praying that your team held on. Which, I was so glad to discover, we did.
