I got a mate in Ukraine, spoke to him about it yesterday. Here's what he said..

"Thanks for support. Not everything good, but more stable than in Kiev. The main problem is that all TV channels show mostly news made by Russia which are totally untrue.

1) Police stoles, tortures and kills people. When injured people comes to hospital - police stoles them , then transport in some forest and kills.

2) There are more than 200 hundred dead people but no one tells this official.

3) Police shots with true ammunition but people can only throw stones. Protesters are completely peaceful, all protesters are academics, songwriters, painters, students. And government, police and army started war against all of us because we do not want to be the purest country in Europe, because we don't want corruption in hospitals, kinder gardens, schools, everywhere.

4) Police and government pays money to gang style guys which broke shops, cars, all these is filmed by Russian channels and government channels which say that these are protesters.

5) Also those gang style guys kill some low level policemen and tv chanhels says that it was made by protesters
and so on so on so on

I know it sounds totally strange that government, police, army can stole, torture and kill peaceful people but this is sad true. And the worst thing is that Europe and USA see situation from different view than it is because Russia channels and Government channels show what they need to show .... We have 2 TRUE tv channels but they are blocked by government on the most part of Ukraine."

Not sure about the last bit though, BBC reporting seems very thorough
