I think this is closest to McNally's thinking ^^^
He did make a point in that interview of saying Chris did it against the odds last year with a finish punching above our weight. So therefore he has to have faith in his man to do it again and not get so itchy trigger finger like some fans.
Did a quick check to remind myself: we've only been in the bottom three after the 8th, 9th & 10th games this season. Given there's only a dozen left, any drop back in there now - especially after a poor performance and I'd say that's enough for McNally to be decisive in his actions. Drop in there after a battling performance and/or purely due to other results conspiring against us and he'd probably get a temporary extension of his reprieve.
